Cannes Yachting Festival

Cannes Yachting Festival took place between the 8th and the 13th of September. This event brings together every year -and there have been 38 already- the most modern yachts by the best shipyards and it is considered the most important boating festival in Europe. From BoatBureau we bring you the news of this edition and the most spectacular that happened in this unique show.

At this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival visitors could see 570 yachts, from 5 meters long boats to 46 meters superyachts. The action was divided into two marinas: Vieux Port with news and exhibition boats, and Port Pierre Canto, the meeting place for brokers and boat rental companies. Vieux Port has seen the star ships from many European shipping companies as Benetti, Azimut, Ferretti, Sunseeker and Princess.

One of the most spectacular boats that have been shown is the Seawave, the world’s largest sailing yacht. It measures over 31 meters long and almost 7 meters of beam. This sailboat was built this 2015 by the South African Southern Wind Shipyard. Also, this year the Concours d’Elegance was held for the first time, where visitors could see small boats from 1975 and before that have been restored but still retain the purest vintage style. The winner was the Riva Aquarama built in 1965.
